The “Overwatch Porn Controversy” Just Imploded (And It’s Super Weird)

Overwatch is a multiplayer shooter game released by Blizzard Entertainment in 2016. It’s a top selling game that features a slew of action-oriented characters and dramatic storylines. There’s a ton of intensity in the gaming sphere of Overwatch. Its adored by many.

But that’s not what you’re here for.

You’re here because there’s an absurd Overwatch porn controversy and you can’t figure out how on earth that happens.

It’s because, well, the Twitters.

I don’t personally Tweet. I’m simply not that interesting. I’m also not a brief writer.

Overwatch features a number of wildly slick action-based characters, all with physical attributes that signal “speed and heroism.”

One of those characters is Tracer.

Tracer exemplifies action hero capabilities through a slender, toned physique. She’s also decked out in super hero-esq attire. She’s geared up and ready to conquer a universe.

So what’s going on?

Last week, some pictures of Tracer’s Overwatch 2 character made the rounds on social media and people noted that the butt was smaller, or gone, or something. The new “buttless” character surged on Twitter as folks debated what happened, or what didn’t happen.

The controversial part in all of this gained steam when more astute fans of the game made claims that nothing changed about Tracer at all. It was merely the angle of the screenshots.

And it seems, this is true. But it didn’t stop people from continuing to share their disdain for an issue that never happened. Because on social media, we tend to feel better when sinking in Lake Dramas.

Overwatch 2 is dope. Hands down. No need for the dramas, folks.

But there may be something deeper at play with the Overwatch backside chopping controversy. Some feel the second installation didn’t really change at all.

Maybe such disdain led to manufacturing controversy over Tracer. It is difficult to get into the mind of those who sit in basements Tweeting about gaming characters’ physical attributes, but maybe if they were a bit more preoccupied with their excitement for Overwatch 2, this butt drama doesn’t get near 20,000 shares?

That’s not for me to say. I don’t buy into any of this. But it was worth reporting. I think?
